Arts of the Movement

The Artes do Movimento Laboratory, linked to the Interpretation Department of the Unirio Theater School, has a Multidimensional character. Its purpose is to develop and articulate activities resulting from teaching, research and extension projects focusing on Gesture and Expressive Movement, at their historiographic, aesthetic and pedagogical intersections. It covers the areas of Theater, Dance, History, Pedagogy, Anthropology and Health, among others. It promotes Meetings, Actions, Projects and Events that involve researchers / artists aiming at expanding the epistemological field and the crossing of knowledge that feed the theoretical and practical actions of scenic artists.

Internationalization

Laboratorio Artes do Movimento develops partnerships and academic, technical, artistic and scientific exchanges with other laboratories and similar institutions in the international scope, in favor of the artistic/scientific dialogue and the internationalization process of Unirio. It proposes agreements and other forms of cooperation with international institutions. It organizes international events such as Symposiums, Seminars, Conferences, Colloquiums, Encounters, Lectures, Workshops and Workshops with its resulting publications. It hosts postdoctoral research, work assignments, artistic residencies and visiting artists/researchers from abroad.

International Actions

2019-2024 - Agreement for Mutual International Cooperation between the Center for Arts and Arts of UNIRIO – CLA, and the Education and Research Unit in Arts, Philosophy and Aesthetics - UFR Arts, Philosophie et Esthétique of the Paris-8 University, Vincennes, Saint -Denis. (In the process of being signed by the IES).

2017-2019 - Cotutelage Convention of Doctoral Thesis by Luar Maria Monteiro Vargas Escobar under the supervision of Profa. Dr. Joana Ribeiro da Silva Tavares (PPGAC/UNIRIO/Piloto/2015) and Profa. Dr Isabelle Launay at the École Doctorale Esthétique, Sciences et Technologies des Arts (Paris-8). The provisional title of the thesis is “Corporeity and Construction of Dramaturgy in the Performative Scene: Approximations between the Director of Movement in Theater and the Dramaturgist in Contemporary Dance”.

2019-2022 - Co-tutelage Convention of the Doctoral Thesis of Marina Campos Magalhães with the thesis project submitted (2017) to the Doctoral Program in Performing Arts and Moving Image of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon-ULisboa “The influence of somatic practices in the training of contemporary dancers: a proposal for a pedagogical intervention based on a comparative study between Lisbon and Rio de Janeiro” under the joint supervision of Professor Jorge Manuel Nunes Ramos do Ó (Institute of Education - University of Lisbon/ULisboa/ Pilot) and Professor Gustavo Alexandre da Silva Vidal Vicente (Faculty of Arts, University of Lisbon / ULisboa) and Professor Joana Ribeiro da Silva Tavares, from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO). https://www.esd.ipl.pt/docentes-marina-magalhaes/
